Nick
Hodos
Nick Hodos is a UK based dance artist, movement director and choreographer working at the intersection of contemporary dance, Tanztheater and theatre. His practice focuses on presence, physical dramaturgy and the body as a carrier of inner states, memory and transformation.
He trained as an actor at the Saratov State Conservatoire, completed an MA at the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute, graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy and is currently studying MA Choreography at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
Nick’s movement language emerges from the dialogue between actor training (Stanislavski, Vakhtangov, Meyerhold, Grotowski), Rudolf Laban’s movement analysis and contemporary European dance practices. His work is grounded in musicality, attention to breath, weight and impulse, and the relationship between inner states and physical form.
He has trained internationally with artists including Akram Khan, Ohad Naharin, Jan Fabre, Rachid Ouramdane and Philippe Decouflé, and was a participant of Biennale Danza 2024, 2026. His work has been recognised with the Chorus Inside International Festival Gold Medal for Choreography (2017), the Golden Mask Award (2021), and the Harlequin Russian National Theatre Award (2024, 2025).
